No real news this week.

I just want to take a minute to address the release (or lack thereof) of the Cursed Tiki Temple Level Pack.

Cursed Tiki Temple Level Pack

The Cursed Tiki Temple Level Pack is currently available from a few European countries. It is not currently available in the US.

We do not have any information as to if or when it will release in the US.

Lack of Information from Activision

While I do not agree with these business practices, Activision has always given themselves a way out. They simply relieve themselves of any responsibility for the statements made in their press releases.

At the bottom of every press release they send out there is always some fine print. The boring legal statements that no one ever takes the time to read.

But if you take a closer look at one of these statements, you'll see what I mean.

Cautionary Note Regarding Forward-looking Statements: Information in this press release that involves Activision Publishing's expectations, plans, intentions or strategies regarding the future, including statements about the expected features, functionality, products and release dates of Skylanders Imaginators and the Cursed Tiki Temple level pack are forward-looking statements that are not facts and involve a number of risks and uncertainties. Factors that could cause Activision Publishing's actual future results to differ materially from those expressed in the forward-looking statements set forth in this release include unanticipated product delays and other factors identified in the risk factors sections of Activision Blizzard's most recent annual report on Form 10-K and any subsequent quarterly reports on Form 10-Q. The forward-looking statements in this release are based upon information available to Activision Publishing and Activision Blizzard as of the date of this release, and neither Activision Publishing nor Activision Blizzard assumes any obligation to update any such forward-looking statements. Forward-looking statements believed to be true when made may ultimately prove to be incorrect. These statements are not guarantees of the future performance of Activision Publishing or Activision Blizzard and are subject to risks, uncertainties and other factors, some of which are beyond its control and may cause actual results to differ materially from current expectations.

If you read this carefully, you'll see phrases like: not facts, no obligation to update, and may ultimately prove to be incorrect.

Basically, if plans change or something goes wrong, they have no obligation to tell us anything.

As I said before, I definitely don't agree with these decisions, but that's how they operate.

Import Options

If you want to get your hands on this pack as soon as possible. You can always import it.

You'll be paying a bit more than you would if it shows up locally, but you can guarantee that you get the pack.

As of this writing you can import it from:

You may even be able to find some sellers on eBay (UK) that will ship to the US.

You can expect to pay a minimum of $40-50 US if you want to import now, but it's currently the only option.

Hopefully I'll have some better news for you soon.

At least Activision let us know they are not releasing a game next year instead of saying they would and then not. 👻 Of course, with all the joy the Skylanders have brought me, I will let the end of the last cycle fiascos slide. Matt being as wonderful as usual trying to calm us all down. 😎

  • Steve Sweitzer

You can Google the 5030917210525 (the EAN)
also to find some vendors that may carry and have in stock.

    • Zym

Thanks, this is good info, I’ll have to put it in my phone when I bug stores. Don’t forget, you can also Google 8765309 if you are looking for Jenny.

      • Joshua G.

Jenny??? Who or what is that?

        • Zym

Just dated myself, that’s all (80’s song from Tommy Tutone). You are definitely younger than me. Your job is to keep the number alive, listen to the song and get it stuck in your head.

          • Stayforeverskylanders

I remember seeing that song on Pop Up Video.

    • Imani Richards

    • Apicklz

Great! thank you that helps a lot. Could you find the EAN for the dark crystal single pack?

  • mindee

I’m really torn about whether or not to have it imported. On one hand I feel we will see it here in the US eventually, but on the other hand, I worry this will be another Thrillipede situation. I don’t want to overpay for the import now, but know that I could end up overpaying even more if I wait and it doesn’t show up in the US at all. Activision needs to get their act together (pun intended) and stop jerking their loyal fans around.

    • Zym

Your brain is deciding out loud. Personally, (hoping not to regret), but I still have 6 levels to finish so I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a US release.

      • mindee

I’m working on nightmare mode at this point while trying to be patient. I’m only missing the magic claw crystal and regular Chompy mage for things that have been released in the US that is not a chase variant. Not sure if I should really count regular Chompy mage in that list or not. I’d really like to have a few more levels to make nightmare mode less annoying. Really hoping this doesn’t turn into yawn traps and thrillipede since the game was updated to show the new areas and cut down our overall completion rate!

    • Commander BB Shockwave

Maybe wait like a month before you think about importing. Patience is a virtue… I have to wait sometimes half a year for a Transformers toy to make it to the EU after the US release… if it still doesn’t, then I buy it from Ebay. But sometimes things suddenly appear in stores without warning. Last week I saw Rocky Roll from Trap Team in Mediamarkt, and he was never anywhere before…

  • Keri Marie Hartmann

I just can’t see them not releasing it in the states. I haven’t played supercharges (my kids have) so I don’t know if the regular Thrillipede was just a figure to play in the game like the others or did he open anything special in the game? We only have the Easter variant and I got that after Imaginators came out. So the kids didn’t really play him that long. But Wild Storm is an adventure pack. Would they really give us the middle finger on an expansion to the game?

    • Commander BB Shockwave

No, he was just a regular Life Skylander. He is somewhat rare, but nowhere on the levels of the Light/Dark dragons from Trap Team.

      • Joshua G.

I got those two dragons when they were first reported to have been available.

  • Jacky

This is terrible news, nonetheless, thanks Matt.
I think that CTT has to make a US release maybe Activision likes to make us wait, so we go crazy and run through TRU to get it. 🙂

  • Chew37

Matt, I must say that this information is quite distressing. Thrillipede is the most recent in some collector’s minds, but the basically Australia only release of the 3 Yawn Traps from the Trap Team game seemed to start this spiral down hill in the now apparent “Forward-looking statement”: “Collect the all” for the Traps! (That’s still a bitter pill in my opinion). This is quite different from cancelling the “Heartbreaker Buckshot” (now seemingly to have been aptly named). The fact the before the last Imaginators game software update our “finished” game was at 100 percent as far as gameplay and achievements. After the update it dropped to 86 percent due to Activision’s preparation for the new game’s adventure packs. I see that not only as a direct planning action on their behalf, but a promise of product intent, as well. To not follow through with product delivery after intentionally upgrading the game’s software content would be unforgivable as a consumer. Nothing like sabotaging their own financial gains that were a definite source of income from the massive collector base they built over these 5-6 years. Just once, I’d love to see a company step up and see a product through to its end, and not pull the plug beforehand due to their own Forward looking statements regarding profits. Have the same faith in their customers, as we have had faith, and hope that they would deliver.

    • Joshua G.

Who says that Heartbreaker Buckshot was ditched? There’s no new console game this year, so it could be released February 2018.

    • Commander BB Shockwave

“Recent”? We had Giants toys that never made it to Europe. Just check how much Series 2 Drobot costs on… He was not available anywhere here. Same goes for Lightcore Chill. This is not surprising, the last wave of stuff is always hard to find. Heck, Mediamarkt restocked on Trap Team stuff last week, and this makes it the first time I have ever seen Rocky Roll in the EU…

      • JimyMahr

I think the reason people are up in arms was that, coupled with the recent patch, this was supposed to herald in Skylanders Imaginators for Switch. Everyone got the patch, “everyone” got the Switch, hardly anyone got a whole new level to play….

This wouldn’t be a problem, but they did sort of tout these Adventure Packs as one reason to look forward to Skylanders in the year to come with no new game. It would be like Blizzard saying “you don’t need Burning Crusade, you still have regular WoW, it really is just the same thing”

As an aside, those still interested, it seems UK amazon has a few Thrillipedes for 7.99 pounds. I’m not a bank, but I’m sure thats below ten bucks American.

        • Sammysam

About Thrillipede – including shipping that would come up to 15$ USD… which is not bad in my opinion. I might actually buy one at that price, the regular one was still on my list of must buy.. eventually 🙂

          • Tom Simpson

Is thrillipede rare? They’re currently selling off “Egg-cited thrillipede” at Target stores in Australia for $3 each. Hmm, I might be able to make an ebay profit on this!

          • Erich

Here in the US we only got the waster version. We never saw the standard thrillipede. This one is sought after. It came out in some territories. The UK I think. We had a nice guy buy a bunch over there and sell them to us at cost plus shipping. But other than those rare, nice people, it’s costly.

          • Sammysam

The regular Thrillipede is rare – the easter version is a dime a dozen.

  • Josh Rosenkranz

I’ve already bought it on eBay. It should be here later this week. Also, I knew Activison rendered themselves useless on this situation.

  • Commander BB Shockwave

What’s the big problem with this? So there is a delay in the pack appearing, so what… In Hungary we still haven’t seen Bad Juju and the rest of Wave 3 anywhere. Same thing with Transformers toys – things appear in very different order between countries. And it’s not like Activision said there is a definited WORLDWIDE release date for these things.

  • Zym

Not related, but success, back from Utah FanX and got our Flashwing card signed by Tara Strong. Signature as part of combo … $20, card value increase … probably worth $10 instead of $2 now. Value for us…never letting it go.

  • Jackson Cohn

I am still waiting I am going CRAZY!?!?😄😄😄

  • Jana T

WHAT IF: the Cursed Tiki Temple Pack ONLY releases for the European market; BUT, the Ro-bow pack, is ONLY released for the North American market. Activision can then release single packs of each, Wild Storm and Ro-Bow, to the opposite markets. That is assuming the new play content comes directly from the blue chest, and not the figure. That little blue chest; is that the key?

    • Joshua G.

Makes sense. But how will we get both levels unlocked? Both are in the data of the North American versions of Imaginators.

  • Joshua G.

Guys, I just got an awesome theory:

The Cursed Tiki Temple pack was supposed to be released close to the US release of the Nintendo Switch, as Skylanders: Imaginators would be a US launch title for the Switch.

But before the CTT’s supposed release, the Switch sold out at almost every store in the US, VERY fast. So what if Activision postponed the release to correspond with more shipments of the Switch?

Nintendo recently announced it would DOUBLE production rates for the Switch from 8 million to 16 million by April 1st (they’re likely not tricking us). So my theory is, the CTT pack was postponed until… April 1st!!! Or somewhere close to that…

    What do you think?

    • Joshua G.

ALSO, coincidentally, April 1st begins my Spring break (probably at some other schools, too), not to mention the date is also around Easter time. There will be TONS of spring break and/or Easter sales at places like TRU and Target! Also, when I went to my local TRU to (unsuccessfully) pick up a CTT pack, there was only ONE starter pack for Switch on display! So concludes my theory.

  • Chris Justice

I know I’m only confirming what Matt confirmed but I bought Cursed Tiki Temple from Amazon UK. I ordered last Wednesday and had it in my hands on Monday via UPS. It’s true that it does cost a bit more because of increased shipping costs. I probably would have waited but had promised it to my son as compensation for a bunch of extra work he did. The promise was made in anticipation of the “planned” release so I felt like I needed to produce the pack! He says the character is awesome and the level very good. The blue chest also gives a ton of items. At the end of the day, you probably pay $10-$13 more by ordering from the UK.

    • Joshua G.

Did it say it wouldn’t ship to the US? If so, I think I’ll get it.

  • dgl14

I can’t find Pain Yatta, it says no toys r us store has him

    • Chris Justice

I’ve seen Pain Yatta in the wild in a few places. Target has it now as well.

  • Joshua G.

The Skylanders Twitter account just tweeted, “Don’t get cursed as you “storm” the all-new Tiki Temple Level Pack in #SkylandersImaginators”. Oh, the nerve they have. What do they have against US releases?

    • mindee

I might have to dig my twitter account out of retirement just to reply to them about where the heck the US release is. I agree. What nerve! >:( It’s like they enjoy taunting us while pointing a finger and going “Ha ha” like that character in The Simpsons.
