More Accurate Pricing in the SCL Shop

If you're a frequent visitor of the SCL Shop, you may have noticed a slight price increase for most items today.

Well, the truth is it's not really an increase.

It all comes down to a small change I made with the shipping cost.

Previously shipping charges were $3.95 + $1.00 per item in your cart. By the end of your shopping trip you might end up with a $20-$30 shipping charge. That didn't seem right. It actually feels a little scammy and that's not how I want to run my business.

So I opted for a more direct approach.

Instead of charging $1 shipping per item, I decided to simply add $1 to the cost of each item.

In the long run you're paying the exact same price as before, but you'll be able to more easily estimate your total.

Now shipping is a flat $5.95 no matter what the size of your order.

This pricing model works out even better if you're an SCL VIP.

Why is that?

Well, SCL VIPs get a 20% discount on all orders.

This discount is taken off of the item cost and not the shipping costs.

So now that the most of the shipping cost has been transferred into the cost of the items, VIPs can get a bigger discount.

At the end of June 2021, the cost of the membership will be increasing.
