Imaginite Mystery Chests Explained

Up to this point I think the Imaginite Mystery Chests have been one of the biggest mysteries left unanswered in Skylanders Imaginators.

Well, I may just have some answers for you today.

While I have not been able to confirm everything in this article 100% I feel confident about the majority of it. I also know that a lot of people have been asking about the Mystery Chests, so I thought it was about time I let you know what I know.

Imaginite Mystery Chests

The Mystery Chests will be sold in blind bags with an MSRP of $5.99 (in the US).

In these blind bags you could find a Bronze, Silver, or Gold Chest.

When placed on the Portal the Chest will present you with a total of nine Creation Pieces (in-game items) that you can use to customize your Imaginators (the Skylanders you create with the Creation Crystals).

The items in each Chest will be a mixture of Rare, Epic, and Ultimate items. (Based on the wording in the screenshot below, I'm assuming that Common items will not appear in these Chests which makes them a slightly better value.)

Aside from the rarity level parameters mentioned below, the pieces you get from the Chest will be completely random. It will be possible to get duplicate items. However, any duplicate items will enhance the stats of items you already own.

Each Chest is a one time use item. (It is my understanding that this is a global, one-time use. Meaning that trying to use it on another account or console won't work either. Info is a bit scarce on this details right now though.)

Bronze Chest

If you get a Bronze Chest, you will receive a minimum of:

• 2 Rare
• 1 Epic
• 2 Ultimate

and at least 2 of these items will be Weapons. (They could be Imaginator Parts, Gear, or Weapons.)

Silver Chest

If you get a Silver Chest, you will receive a minimum of:

• 1 Rare
• 1 Epic
• 3 Ultimate

and at least 2 of these items will be Weapons. (They could be Imaginator Parts, Gear, or Weapons.)

Gold Chest

If you get a Gold Chest, you will receive a minimum of:

• 1 Epic
• 4 Ultimate

and at least 2 of these items will be Weapons. (They could be Imaginator Parts, Gear, or Weapons.)

So how do I know all of this. While this information comes from multiple sources, I have to give a shoutout for the most intricate details to @Dal3k92SC.

Additional Digital Offerings

In addition to the Mystery Chest though, there were two other options.

Copper Chest

You can purchase a Copper Chest at a discounted price.

In this Chest you are guaranteed:

• 1 Epic
• 1 Ultimate

at least one of which will be a Weapon. (They could be Imaginator Parts, Gear, or Weapons.)

NOTE: This description does not use the same “Rare, Epic, or Ultimate” wording as the Mystery Chest description. So I think there is a chance that Common Items could be included here.

Platinum Chest

Finally, there was also the option to purchase a Platinum Chest.

As you might have guessed this is the most expensive option, but it definitely gives you the most items.

In this Chest you are guaranteed:

• 1 Rare
• 5 Epic
• 7 Ultimate

at least 3 of which will be a Weapons. (They could be Imaginator Parts, Gear, or Weapons.)

NOTE: This description does not use the same “Rare, Epic, or Ultimate” wording as the Mystery Chest description. So I think there is a chance that Common Items could be included here.

Wrap Up

All in all this is not entirely surprising as we saw the introduction of microtransactions in Skylanders SuperChargers last year.

From what I've heard and seen, no Imaginator Parts, Gear, or Weapons will be exclusive to these Chests. So if you play the game long enough you should be able to all the same items that are available in these Chests.

This is simply an option for those of you who want to unlock the customization options faster.
